Looks genuine to me. Can you give us the weight?

Exceptionally strong reverse center strike for this year. Looks like a winner to me at MS-62. Eye Appeal 7/10.

Since the weight is correct, I would say it is real. Is it a coin you own, or a coin you are looking to buy? If you are looking to buy, make sure the seller did not lie about the weight

It appears to be genuine and looks like a really nice piece. G$1 pieces were heavily counterfeited though so be careful.

Thanks for all your good feedback. inherited this coin as part of an estate. Just wanted to solicit some initial opinions before deciding whether worth sending to TPG for grading and authentication.

Take it to a dealer and have them make an offer on it. There's no offense if you turn it down. Based on that, decide about sending it in.
