mickeydog: "Check out this article from Coin World: https://www.coinworld.com/news/us-c...eagle-sales"I received an email offer from PineHurst to purchase my 2019 S in the unopened box for $221 ($150 over cost) The article states that Pinhurst claims that they only made $50-100 on their sales! DUH! I have not tracked their ebay sales but I believe that they sold their stock for several hundred dollars over their cost of $221.

Wow, one of the coins Pinehurst purchased turned out to have a signed COA and graded PF 70 from NGC. The individual who sold to Pinehurst will probably never know what he gave up but I'm sure there are many who now regret their initial sales to some of these online dealers.

I didn't see this black core label available as an option when I was on the NGC website. Anyone know if it's only available to certain tier-level members or bulk dealers? https://www.ebay.com/itm/293342509013

For NGC the trolly is the only special label available for collectors, all the others are bulk submitter labels and likely exclusive to the submitter especially the hand signed ones. When a seller only has a couple they likely purchased them right away or a presale and upped the price for a resale

Great reading...Just a couple of things TV Mike is still offering the Pride of Two Nations Canadian set for under $300 (I think @ $260)...just saying
And why did the Mint decide to do the numbered COAs..do you think it's to prevent counterfeits in the distant future?

So just for kicks I decided to look up the last US Mint sales report. Turns out the last one was Nov 3, anybody know why they haven't updated it the last 2 weeks?

So, I suspect that numbering the COA had nothing to do with counterfeiting. However, if it is something that some collectors want then the Mint will probably continue to do it, even though they have stated MANY times that the number on the COA has absolutely nothing to do with how the coins were minted.

@jack jeckel Quote: After a runaround ride my Fedex Smartpost shipment was delivered by Fedex, not the post office.
The seam on the back of the box had clear tape on it and the side seams were a little bowed out.
Anyone else get a box that looked like it was retaped and not sealed / glued like all of the rest I have received from the mint? That's a messed up delivery route. I'm in the area and know the fedex smartpost facility is probably a few miles from the delivery address in Brookfield. Yet it went to Chicago, then past Brookfield to Menominee Falls, back to Brookfield. I've had good experiences with fedex so it surprises me, but I expect that from USPS. I work in the New Berlin Industrial park less than a mile from the smartpost facility. Mine was delivered yesterday and looked as you described, back flap taped closed and the ends looking pushed out from rough handling, but not damaged. Edit: mine is gong to the post office today to go to PCGS, unopened.

Regarding PineHurst Coins:
They are selling PCGS/NGC 69's for $970 and have over 300 available. They are also selling PCGS/NGC 70 FDI's for $4364 and FS/ER 70's for $2228 (13 available)
MCM had 112 NGC 69's available yesterday for $1025...today they have 12 left at $1099. No price on 70's

I can't believe that there are so many collectors buying for those crazy prices. Supply will increase lots more when private buyers get their coins graded and then offer for sale.
