Quote: Alright... I know its only been a few days since I posted the album but...
I had an envelope with foreign currency and I don't collect foreign currency so it was time to give it a good home. With the trade I was able to update a few not in MS coins with MS and actually got much more value from the currency than I expected. What I like about this set is that you can get most of the coins in MS for not a lot of money. Fantastic!

It's a good looking set!
7070 is a big undertaking. In BU? Not achievable on my budget. Uh uh, no way.
I'm kind of stalled on what to collect next myself. The Lincoln set and 7070 I am pretty satisfied with. I bought some silver for awhile but I feel like I have enough of that. Nothing coinwise is really calling my name right now. Actually kicking around building out a 71 or 72 Topps Baseball card set to go with my 73. Hmmm, decisions decisions.

I'm doing my 7070 in Unc for the most part. With the exception of the seated and Trade dollars, everything that's not bust type is pretty affordable in Unc. Even certain capped bust coins are relatively cheap in Unc, the Capped Bust Half Dime and half dollar come to mind.

I'm going to try and do this one in uncirculated. The dollar set is mostly MS. I have a few AU pieces coming in so I will have a few more holes filled by Monday. The reason I haven't gone all out on this one is because I made a decision to get the IHC completed first. After that is done I'll revisit this one, I promise I'll update as more coins come in :)

When you get into the bust coins however, you are looking at thousands apiece for the bust dime, quarter, half as well as the large cents and Half Cents.

True, the bust dime, quarter and half are rather expensive. Though many half and large cents are affordable and in Unc for less then $500 each.

The Classic Head Large Cent is a killer in uncirculated. That one coin in uncirculated would cost more than I spent on my entire 7070.
If you are willing to make a few exceptions. it seems do-able.
p.s. and would be an amazing set!

As I don't intend to have many uncirculated (or even high-grade) coins in my 7070 (and in fact I already have several dateless coins in it), as far as the base-metal types are concerned, it's the Flowing Hair cent that I dread trying to find - Classic Head appears to be easier. Of course, the really hard ones to find are the half cents... ...For the silver, I'm ignoring the Bust and Seated types for now - they're a very long-term project. Or, rather, I'll get some if I find some within my budget, but at the moment that's still an open question. Same for the 3-cent silver, and of course the Trade dollar - which is likely way out of my budget anyway. As it happens, I already have all the other silver types from the 7070 [that is, the 20th century ones] except for the vague "commemorative" holes, which, as it happens, I also hope to fill eventually... ...with four different classic commemoratives for the half dollars, preferably, which makes the search pretty much impossible. I mean, sure, they are around, they're just rare within my budget.

I traded about 3.27 in currency and coins for a new Morgan. I may give up on this set and just collect Morgan's ;) The 1889 Morgan replaced the 1921 Morgan.

This was the easiest type set to complete and I LOVE IT. I was only missing 8 coins. And 5 were super easy to get and a fellow collector was VERY GENEROUS in sending me the 3 I was also missing (Thank you ) So here is the full set. I'm really happy with page 1. And while I have everything in page 2, I may upgrade a few of the coins. The last page I am also super happy with. So while it is completed, its not finished. Thanks for looking.

I'm really on the fence about upgrading Ben. It's my least favorite coin and I hate to spend money on a coin I'm not even liking :(
