I had the chance to buy a 1812 capped bust half, mid XF, very well stuck, good price, hesitated and lost. I'm not sure why I posted this. I can't explain why I didn't buy it.
Rest in Peace

You probably did not feel comfortable with the opportunity. Your gut feeling will protect you from ten bad deals for one good one you pass up.

A better deal will come along. Just be careful not to immediately jump on the next one just because you feel bad about missing this one. Patience!

Sounds like you were bidding on this on ebay or somewhere like that. If so, just tell yourself it was probably a bad deal. Might have been a fake, different one when you get it and no returns, high postage and handling, scratched on the rear, etc.
Of you could spend the rest of your life wondering just what did you miss out on.

I have done this a few times before, and I have always found a better deal later on. If I am in doubt for any reason at all, I go with the feeling.

You should listen to your gut feeling. It will help more often than hinder.
