I'm so depressed. I'm in the need to sell my house in order to move closer to work. I need to pack away all of my "friends". There is no way I'm having an open house with my "friends" lying around. I'm even trying to remove any evidence that I've ever had any "friends", not an easy task. I am pretty scared that the house doesn't sell and I have to take it off the market for a while. After all the work putting the "friends" away, would I pull them all out? I keep a pretty accurate accounting of all of my "friends" and I currently have 24,066 of them!! Maybe they'd have to stay in hiding for a whole year At least I don't have to sell my "friends"

Rest assured that these friends truly do "get better with age."

Good luck with the home sale!

Buy the new house, move, then sell the old one.

I know, not an easy task; but I survived it the last time I had to do it.

This market makes it difficult though. So, assuming you cannot go that route, pack them in smaller lots. If you get stuck, bring out only one lot at a time; rotate often!

Unfortunately, the part about close to 25,000 friends makes a safe or deposit box out of the question.

toniblab has very good advice about a safe/deposit box

Its a buyer market out there, I hope you get a good deal on a different home and on selling your exsisting home.

When we moved almost 2 yrs ago I thought for sure we would have to make 2 mortgage pymts for a year, to my surprise our house sold in 3 weeks.

Moving closer to work means saving on gas

Best of luck to you Jays-Dad

Send your friends to me, I'm lonely. LOL If you have to wait a year, you will appreciate them more then. Or you can always "get new friends" to fill in the void.

Wait a Minute.....we are all talking about coins now...Aren't We?

I'd gather the most valuable of all the coins and get a large safety deposit box.

The deed is done. Don't tell anyone, but I'm a firm believer that hiding something in plain sight is better than the best security system. I boxed up everything, then put everything in a big box from a big screen tv and buried the box under a bunch of other boxes in my garage.

Yay, my old friends have come back to me. Unfortunately, the house didn't sell. I brought everything out of the garage in fear of possible flooding from Ike. No flooding so it is was all for nought. Ummm....maybe not for nothing, I have them home again.

Remember, true friends will pick up the friendship as if you were never apart.

Keeping them safe (people and weather) is the priority and not many people will look under your bed and in the back of your pantry, even at an open house. Pack in small boxes so they won't be too heavy and mark on the outside in a code that you understand. I do this with Christmas presents and even though people go looking, they rarely find.
