I am a new member to this site and new to coin collecting. I have found this forum to be very helpful in providing information. I have found a quarter out of coin roll that appears to have an error. I am seeking advise on if this is error or variety. I will post pictures of coin with potential error and one without error. Thanks

I see a break in the border line at the top, but it looks like damage to me. Is that what you're asking about?

Same here. Something hit the coin there and moved metal downward, breaking the border line.
