The error you describe is quite collectible and is known as a clip. When the round blanks are stamped out of the sheet of bronze the sheet failed to move the correct amount and the punch went to stamp out the next blank but caught the edge of your blank. The clips can be minor to quite large. They can even be double and triple clips, crescent clips and bowtie clips. I have seen them all for Australian pre decimals except for the bowtie.
A slightly different type of clip is the straight clip (usually from stamping too close to the edge of the sheet) and the ragged clip (from stamping at the end of a sheet).
