Hi folks. I've been putting this off for like two years and, frankly, I'm tired of looking at it.

I've tried and failed a number of times to figure it out. Can someone tell me what this thing is?

I can tell you it's Chinese, I think its a Hsien Feng Yuan Pao 500 wen coin, but I'm not sure its real. Would have been made around 1851-1861 the right most character is the province.

Thank you for that! What gives you hesitation that it might not be real?

I don't know much about them and the characters seem a bit off. If it is real it probably worth a bit. They are called cash coins if you want to do some research. I think those ones are also cast, and I've no clue how to tell if its authentic. I'm not say it is fake, just that I don't know if it's real.
