Unidentified Queen Victoria 1836(?) Coin.

There is no value on the coin and it looks like it has been gilded as it's gold in places (but worn). Is it usual for UK coins not to have the value on? What is it please? Your coin could be anything from a farthing to a Penny, or even toy money or a medallion - all depends on size and weight. Silk23 New Member United Kingdom 15 Posts	Posted 09/23/2019 06:20 am Hi, sorry. Further examination corrects the date to 1839. I believe it has been bronzed on copper which is why it looks gold. This is all I have found out from the internet but I may have mis-identified it. It measures 21mm dia. Report this Post to the Staff

It is either in very nice condition with residual lustre, or has been gilded at some point and then worn off a bit. Still need better/larger pictures to get more idea. As an 1839 farthing in very nice condition, it would be worth a few pounds on ebay. It may be more if it is an unusual variety... Report this Post to the Staff
