It looks normal to me. Do you see something out of the ordinary?

Happens when the dies are over polished. It removes some of the shallow devices on the designs. Some years have more over polishing than others. 1974, 1983 and 84 are common to find over polishings.

Not personally familiar with how to determine a reverse design variety from a partial image of the obverse.
Maybe a full reverse image might help?

The OP can make the determination of RDV-002 vs RDV-008 by examining the stair detail or share an image here.

Well the last two images, show the difference on the 008, but I had to create the 002 image of what the reverse looked like. Always good to save these images. You will kick yourself later if you don't and then have to find them again.
