I will say that that while China and it's various rulers did use gold, I don't think there are any gold cash coins, with the exception of a few that have gold inlay. There was gold block money at one point, but I believe if gold was used as currency I was by weight not coinage. Report this Post to the Staff

The chance that it's real value is over $5 is pretty low, even if it's hundreds of years old. Report this Post to the Staff

Finn235 Pillar of the Community United States 6130 Posts	Posted 09/27/2019 2:27 pm It's purporting to be a Qianlong cash coin, but there is a 0% chance that it's genuine - the characters are all wrong, as if copied by someone who is illiterate. Very likely, this is a modern creation made for incorporation into jewelry, art, or furniture. You can buy them in bulk from Chinese shopping sites. Report this Post to the Staff
