
I have to agree with the other replies on this one. It looks like a severely damaged coin. It looks as if the coin was exposed to very high heat. That would account for the large "bubble" and the pitted surfaces and color of the clad layer.
As you learn more about the minting process, you'll understand that nothing in the minting process could have caused the coin to look like this. It didn't look like this when it left the mint.
Keep looking. Errors and variety coins are out there waiting to be found!
