Very conservatively graded, hence the green bean.

Not that I really need to, but do you think it would upgrade on a regrade? I have to send some stuff to PCGS anyway.

I paid $700 for this through the dealer's network. Let me say. Finding fully struck up draped bust coins that are problem free, have nice planchets, and nice color is next to impossible. This one fell into my lap at a big discount and I had to snap it up.

Thanks frog, I'm focusing on quality right now, but bust coins might go on the back burner for a bit till I find another nice one. Maybe a nice Trade dollar next?

@GrapeCollects, Re-submitting has both an upside and a downside. You might bump the grade a step, but you also might lose the CAC sticker. Likely worst case, it comes back level-graded minus CAC. Likely best case, it bumps a step and retains CAC. You will need to assess the risk/reward potential here.

Here's my question: If this is for your collection, does the possible re-grade really matter? Your coin has great eye appeal. That's evident regardless of the number on the slab. The very things that attracted you to this coin would attract others to it. You could always re-submit later, if you chose to sell the coin.

Just some thoughts.

You are definitely building a great collection. You have a good eye for quality.

Thanks fortcolins. There isn't much of a reason, I eventually, once completed, to cross my entire type set to PCGS. Not for competitive reasons, but for showcase reasons.

I agree. this is a nice coin for the grade and I would not want to lose the bean. if it sells in the future its going to sell at a premium anyways
