Surely MS FH, but I have no sense of a numerical grade. Are those dark, splotchy areas on the obverse just toning?

Is that a scratch on reverse through the motto and M ? If it's not then I'll say MS-64 .

It is a Full Head, which is pretty common on 1917.

MS-63 FH
Not a fan of the toning on this one.

UNC details. I think its been cleaned, not rinsed properly and the residual on the surfaces caused the discoloring.

Agree on FH for strike, and apparent UNC detail.
That looks like a long gouge running from above M in America down all the way to the eagle's breast. That would likely prompt a "scratched" problem label from a grading service.
The toning looks like a negative also, nearly rising to the level of an "environmental damage" issue. If you are shopping for this date there are many, many examples with nicer appeal.

Again, I ask the OP for better pics and his description of the darker obverse areas.
