came across this 1974 LMC with extra thickness on the date in comparison to normal 1974 cent, and a double line under the Lincoln on the reverse, opinions?

you are comparing it with a coin( marked normal) that is showing die wear, your coin is normal.

Wexler has listed Two doubled dies for this year and V.V. none.

Look at the triangles in the center of the four. They are very different, the date does look puffy.

What are you using for photos exceptionally clear, best I've seen.

For the 1974 there are two strikes 1974 P,D,S Large Date and 1974 Small Date P,D,S. The coin you are showing is a 1974 P Large Date.
