Going through my nickels tonight I found one that appears to be a clipped planchette. I have never seen one before, so I would like opinions on whether this is a clipped planchette or PMD. Thanks!

Looks good! When you see a clipped planchet, always look at the area opposite for the Blakesley Effect or Blakesley Bounce. You may see an area on the rim that looks flat or distorted. It's caused when the coin moves slightly or "bounces" when it's struck. This can be a useful diagnostic for clipped coins. I have seen lots of clips, but only one or two that DIDN'T have a strange area on the rim, 180 degrees from the clip.

I see what looks like the Blakesley Effect on your coin, but I'm not positive. You should be able to tell by looking at the coin under magnification.

Looks like a legitimate double clip which is especially neat since its on a nice looking nickel.

I've never found one of those. Mucho congratulations.
