I have this 1971 Canadian Commemorative Dollar that weighs in at 16.12 grams. The other one that I have weighs 15.64 grams, 15.62 grams is the normal weight for this coin. I am not sure of the Weight Tolerances of Canadian coins but this one is 0.5 grams overweight. It is definitely from thick stock. Is this weight acceptable under Canadian coin Weight Tolerances?

I have found out the Weight Tolerances of Canadian coins. The tolerance for this coin is .18 making the total Weight Tolerance at 15.80 the maximum acceptable weight. My coin by weight is .32 grams over the maximum acceptable weight. Is this still common?

I have seen differences of almost a gram in weights from nickel dollars... specimen and PL strikes tend to be thicker and heavier... all normal in my opinion.
