Now I found a 1971-D misaligned Kennedy! Or is this enough to call it "off center?"

The first image is showing Machine Doubling. MD is even more common on the larger diameter coins. (most of the time on the bottom devices for the denominations)

When I search halves, I have a game plan:
1. review websites for all DDO / DDR years and write them down.
2. keep all silver (everything before 1970) There are some silver after 1970 so be on the look out.
3. keep all 1987 (NIFC)
4. I weigh all coins and check for rotation.
5. some like to keep the "NO FG" (initials).

Some folks keep all of the 2002 to present (NIFC, not issie for circulation) because of low population.

I prefer Loomis to Brinks, you're going to find a plethora of MD coins

Don't many of them are in horrible shape and you will probably find boxes with hundreds of the newer ones at some point.

LofM....the obverse and reverse are posted that your receding too! The obverse has arrows pointing to the what I though was a "misalignment?" They are above the 3 close ups!

I updated the information onto two images so we can have it all together, without having to look for it again. (Save these images for your educational purposes:
