I found this penny in while sorting through my change jar. First Wheat penny I've ever found and consider myself quite lucky due to its age. But I'm thinking it's quite worn and probably not worth but a few dollars?

to the forum! Wheat cents are still very commonly found in higher grades. One like yours with heavy circulation wear is worth more than face value, but still less than $1. In order to be worth more it would have to be in much better condition, or be one of the rare dates.

While we welcome more questions and photos from you, if you continue with your interest in coins, you might want to consider picking up a copy of A Guide Book of United States coins, otherwise known as The Red Book. It is published annually and is fairly inexpensive, or I'm sure available at any library. Prices don't usually change that much, so even picking up a copy as few years old can be a great aid and education. And keep reading postings here on CCF, and again,
