At a show, a dealer was watching his friend's table. He showed me a carved wooden jewelry box, about 6" square, with coins inlaid into the lid. All of them were before 1915, with the newest ones being AU/BU.

The table owner bought the box in a collection and paid $50 for it. He offered it to the guy I was talking to for $100, and was turned down.

There were some nice looking coins there, so he figured he'd practice removing them by starting with the obviously fake Colonial. If he botched it in practice, no big deal.

He got the coin out and the more he looked at it, the better it looked, so he said the heck with it and sent it in.

I came back a genuine NE Sixpence, VF.

He left the rest alone, but there were 09 and 08 Indians and an 09s Lincoln. Also a couple 13 and 14 Buffalos.

I bought all these when relatives came to visit and made us go to the local tourist attractions.
Also I picked up a couple of pewter pieces of the Lexington Minuteman and the Massachusetts state seal.
