In reference to the question if any where carried by the crews of Apollo 11 or 12 the only possibility would have to been if a crew member included it into his PPK ( Personal Preference Kit ) as authorized by Nasa to carrier personal trinkets, mementos, Philatelic materials ETC.The strongest possibility in my opinion would be Armstrong, he was a known collect.I will get back to that. Nasa cleared the way for astronauts to carry personal items abroad missions as long as they where listed and the total weight was kept under a strict weight limit. Remember Gus Grissom and his
Mercury dimes, that pretty much started the PPK protocols. Now during Gemini the Flightline medallions where almost used exclusively due to the fact that these could be produced in numbers requested and handling protocols could be guaranteed. The Franklin Mint produced small numbers upon request and Robbins was carried by all the Apollo Crews.
http://www.spaceflownartifacts.com is an excellent site which catalogs such items carried by crews on there missions. Back to Armstrong , The original Dies used for there Robbins Medallions where given to Armstrong after the production run was finished. He had the insight to specify that any anniversary of A-11 moon landing where reproduction of the Robbins Medallions was warranted to promote the anniversary,The dies could be used with slight modification and a percentage of the sales would go to Charitable organizations pre chosen.
