Seems original and unmolested, with a touch of embedded dirt. Considering an acetone bath, but maybe some warm soapy water would be a better first effort. What do you think?

Surely this not the actual color? Can you show us better pics?

My images of silver coins in particular tend to pick up some greenish tint when I edit the lighting parameters. I dialed back the saturation on these modified images. The color now appears to be more accurate when compared to the coin in-hand.

yep, I agree. this coin appears to have been cleaned. the discoloration areas you see are what was under something on the coin that they were attempting to remove. all the original surfaces have been removed. AU details

I worked on this coin a little: I first soaked it hot distilled water with a drop of Dawn dishwashing soap, rinsed with more water and patted dry. Then I applied Verdi-Care and used a toothpick to dislodge the larger deposits. Finally, I rinsed with more distilled water and air-dried.

I think the coin looks better and traces of peripheral luster are present. Color on these latest photos matches the actual coin pretty well. Faint vertical hairlines are now visible on the obverse, confirming that this coin was cleaned at some point.

I don't think I did too badly for $60, even though the coin isn't as original as I had hoped.

I am certain that Verdicare is responsible for most of the improvement.
