There is a photo and a caption in Numismatic News (1/24/06 pg 41) of Charles Krause, the U.S Mint's eldest employee. Mr. Krause was celbrating his 90th birthday. [:0]

Does this make OldDan a whippersnapper?

Not particularly, although it's not impossible. Although why haven't I heard about it? Officially the oldest living person is 116 and is the only person in the whole world left that was born in the 1880s. She was born in late 1889.

As far as the guiness book of world records go with regards to the oldest ever, well that belongs to Jeanne Calment a French woman who was born in 1875 and died in 1997. She knew Van Gogh. She was 122.

Others have claimed to be older but have never had the documentation to prove it.

Well if you can prove that they were 125 then it certainly will be a new world record!

I read about a person not too long ago, who claimed to be 140. Lived in Russia. No documentation.
