Hi!

I was given this coin while I was in Japan over 20 years ago, I only just rediscovered it. Here are two pictures of the coin, front and back, I can't seem yo find any information about this coins specific period.

I hope that someone here will be able to shed some light on it for me.

Thanks wwhitman, hahaha I took the photo holding the coin up to the camera on my pc. I'll do a better photo at home tonight with a proper camera.

It's a Chinese coin. The image is flipped and it should look something like this:

Sorry I don't have the back image as this coin is glued to a cardboard.

Struck in the era Chia-ching, 1796-1820

The lower character on the other side (when rotated correctly, it will be on the right), it's hard to make out - and this is the one that will tell us which province the coin is from..
