Are these worth buying for use with coin albums? Dansco sells, or sold- a slipcase with a chemical implant that amounts to the same thing. Is this a waste of money?

Attractive to collectors, but museums would never use them.
I use a somewhat similar custom made system.

The British Museum has their coins exposed to air, laid out in trays, which are in specially built coin cabinets.
The coins are deliberately allowed to patinate, and to be handled 'in hand' by those who need to study and photograph them.
Potentially million dollar value coins are stored and displayed in this manner.

I simply purchase Zip Lock plastic bags. I use the large size and after inserting an Album, I sort of push out any extra air. For very expensive Albums, I double the Zip Lock bags and for many, many years I've had no problems at all.
