The article I just read opened with "By now most have heard..." but I hadn't seen anything on here so I figure most of us hadn't heard either. From https://www.ecommercebytes.com/2019...e-publisher/ -- Quote:Niche publisher F+W Media filed for Chapter 11 over the weekend after facing financial struggles for years. ... Craft industry publication Craft Industry Alliance summed it up as follows: "A combination of declining subscriptions and ad revenue, plus a misguided effort to shift into ecommerce, led to a whole lot of debt." Many F+W magazines may be recognizable to EcommerceBytes readers. Collectibles titles include Antique Trader, Bank Note Reporter, Coins, Goldmine, Military Trader, Military Vehicles, Numismatic News, World Coin News, and Sports Collector Digest. All things considered, not terribly surprising, but it is a blow to a number of hobbies.

Thanks for that. Disappointing, first I've heard of it.

Chapter 11 does not necessarily mean they are going under, but it does mean changes are coming and their loser products will be terminated. We will have to wait to see what survives the axe.

Chapter 11 is not the end. The company I work for was in Chapter 11 when I first started here. Now it has turned that around and just last year went from privately owned company to a PTC and is on the stock exchange.

Just ran across this. I sent in a subscription to NN last month, got a confirmation and nothing since. Probably this is not an unusual delay but now I wonder. Any other subscribers out there notice delays in delivery etc?

Well, I sure hope the currency guides survive the axe. I have used them for many years....though, like the Red Book, most of the information is online.

They're gone. LITERALLY.
The books division was sold to Penguin. The collectibles magazines to "Active Interests Media". There was basically nothing left, so they filed to dissolve the bankruptcy.

Hopefully the publications will survive the transfer of ownership, although I am sure the under-performers will get the axe.

Um... ok. I give.
The numismaster link on the aimmedia article states that it's powered by Krause publications.

It seems they need to update their imagery.

FWIW, I never have received any copies of NN. It will soon be 60 days.
No wonder they are struggling. Why on earth would it take two months to initialize a subscription? When I called I was told it may take until November.

I plan to call them next week and if they still give me a song and dance about when my sub will begin I will demand a refund.
Is anybody on here currently a subscriber and if so are you getting your issues?

Print publications are sadly and unfortunately dying a slow death.. I doubt if anything can save them. Most, if not all, will be gone within 5 years.
