This 1967 Washington quarter is from a Special Mint Set. It has a strike through in the field near Washington's nose that I think was caused by a thread or string. I pointed out to my wife, Amy, that I think it looks like the shape of "Fudgie The Whale," an ice cream cake from Carvel she added that the whale was spouting.

What do you think. String, thread, wire, staple or something else?

Probably a tiny individual wire from a twisted multiple strand wire.

I learn towards thread. Thread can show more curves than wire and string.
