1984-P Washington Quarter Broadstruck, Clashed And Over Polished Dies

Yokozuna Pillar of the Community United States 4618 Posts	Posted 10/20/2019 9:45 pm I was processing photos when I noticed that this broadstruck quarter also has the so called "Spitting Eagle" clash. The reverse die shows massively over polished areas around the eagle. If you look at the larger image you'll see that it almost looks like the eagle's feathers are ruffled where the fields were gouged at the edges of his head and neck. The heavy zigzag die polishing in the same area looks like Z's where the eagle might be snoring. The coin also displays a little collar clash is a spot or two. So, my friends at CCF, I bring you "Fluffy: The Molting, Snoring, Drooling Eagle!" I'm gonna have fun with my descriptions when I put this one up for sale! Click on the photo for a larger image.
