Yes, it's a weird question, but does anyone know if the profile of Liberty in the G of the PCGS logo was taken from a coin or is it just a suggested shape? I thought at first that it could be Liberty from the 3¢ nickel, but no match.

I pulled up comparisons of all coronet type gold coins. I knew it had to be a coronet by the crown visible. I then compared all the denominations to the photos. All the fractional gold pieces ($2.5,$5,$10,$20) have a more upright bust design. With that out of the way it could only be the odd denominations (G$1,$3, $4). A simple comparison makes it clear it can't be either the $4 or $3, leaving the gold dollar. There are 3 bust types for that design, but the type 1 fits the photo perfectly.
