Of course the Day 2 clue was helpful!
The scale said 1500 grams. If the jar is glass, maybe that counts for 500 grams. SO, if there are 1,000 grams of coins, that would be:
$4 of post 1982 pennies ... or ...
$10 of nickels ... or ...
$44 of dimes or quarters
So, if a third of the mass of coins is pennies, a third is nickels, and a third is dimes and quarters, we are talkin' in the ballpark of 19 bucks. If a higher proportion is pennies, the amount will be lower.
Of course, that is a whole bunch of assumptions, any of which could be off ... but makes it no surprise the amount is over $10.
I'll guess $15.73
