I doubt it. Variety vista only has one DDO listed after 1972-S

Your coin looks like a die chip on that area.

Probably because of the switch over to the single squeeze dies, in the 1980's. The reason why not being found is everyone is looking in the wrong areas. of the coins. So they maybe missing them?

If it were a doubled ear, it would be the same size as the whole lobe area. Note just one tiny area affected, that looks like a chip. All the cent doubled ears are raised.

hear, hear! ah, couldn't help it... too much circulation and not strong enough to tell. I believe coop is right. the wear hides it's true nature.

Why do the dimes in this era always look so circulated? At that time, they were used in vending machines a lot. You could get a soda for a dime. If you put in a quarter, you got a dime and nickel in change. So they machine took their till on them. Cigarette machines and pay phones also used dimes at this time. Vending machines show no mercy on coins.
