mcshilling check this one out. this is the special coin of this set. I like it that bird can make a hole in a tree in no time. that is a very nice coin.

mcshilling I read the COA it say 1 dollar coin. ok but what about a loonie. its like they left the loonie out. you know they should clean that little gun. that blows this coating on these coin. even that one dollar coin it still has some gold sprayed on the lower edge.

i have been given a contact in the mint. because I have been chosen. to be on a group at the mint to talk about coins. I have been told this metal is 3 ply brass on the woodpecker coin. he said this is more about the metal mixture. that was used to look silvery, its still brass.

The Toonies and Loonies in the sets are the best quality. Luckily, they are "pre- 2013" version.
The circulation toonies with edge lettering look like minted by amateur enthusiasts.

Quote: Where is the security features on these 2019 ? If I remember correctly, in the RCM proof and specimen sets, the Loonie and the Toonie do not have these features. Clean and nice look.

These coins are reverse proof finish, see how the Queen is shiny and the background (field) is striated/lined frosted. This makes it a Specimen Strike. Specimen Set $49.95 Pileated WoodPecker. There are no security features on the Specimen Sets.
