Now this is my personal opinion only ... I think that TCNC stands for "The Canadian Numismatic Crooks". Unless they have changed their ways, many of the coins that appear to have been sold then turn up at future auctions. Maybe it's their polite way of passing an item when it's not fetching enough money. I haven't been to one of theirs in a couple years .. .maybe they've cleaned up their act.
Another possible factor is US bidders participating. What Canadians call XF-40 a US collector may see as XF-45, hence a higher bid. Different grading standards.
