Has anyone submitted coins to PCGS or NGC at a coin show? If so, is submitter still required to be a member? My guess is a membership would be required.
What say you?

I haven't done it in a long while but as I recall, yes, you have to be a member of the TPG or must join on the spot.

Yes. As of a year ago both required membership, but as long as you are submitting 5 or more coins your membership becomes "free".

If you are at a show it should be fairly easy to find someone, fellow collector or dealer, who is a member to submit them for you.

If you are a member of the ANA you can submit coins to NGC without paying for an NGC membership.

I plan to attend the FUN show in January and I know PCGS will be present. I would think NGC would be there as well.
I appreciate the information. I have more than 5 coins and I am a member of ANA. If all else fails I will take Conder101's advise. Thanks all!

It has been awhile since I submitted at a shows, but the cost per coin was higher than sending them in.
Then again you don't pay for postage.

Only if you do show grading. You can also submit for regular grading where they will take it back and grade it.

How many and of what. You can actually get a discount on your submission charges if you join the PCGS tier with 8 vouchers. That membership is $249 and you can get $320 in value with a regular gold shield submission level for them. You also get a free shirt that you can sell for $15-20 if you don't want it making it an even better deal.

I'd rejoin every regular level submission if I could

what is the most cost effective way to submit a few coins for grading? Can I do this myself or must I go through a dealer? what does it cost and must coins be in a certain type of holder?
