Who has special ordered dollar coins from the bank? If so, are they always going to come back as the Presidential dollars? Do they ever send (or do you have any option to request) other dollars, such as SBA or Sacagawea? (I certainly cannot imagine that they would ever send out Eisenhowers or older.) Also, do you always have to order in fulls boxes, regardless of the coin type you want? Ordering a box of dollar coins could be pretty expensive, for instance.

One of many advantages in living in a small Midwestern town. They know my name when I walk in on Tuesday and pick up my order. They know I'm coming on Tuesday and have the boxes I ordered the week previous.
They save all unusual and silver coins and odd currency for me to look at. I offer fair prices on anything of value.
Two months ago they had a collection turned in for cash. It had 84 silver dollars, mostly Morgans) to give you an idea of the volume.
Sherry knew the man who brought them in. But we couldn't find an address anywhere. His father and mother lived about 2 blocks away so I walked over to their house.
It ended up that the collection was taken by the son who turned them in to the bank. With the banks permission the father bought back the collection for $553 (face value).
He gave me a great 3CS for the help. We've had breakfast together a couple of times and he is energized again to work on his collection.
One of my very best weeks of box hunting. How often do.you get a 3CS?

Bank teller here. No way to request Pres vs. Sac vs. SBA. Almost always going to be a mix. No way to request Ikes. Getting box vs roll quantity depends on the bank and your relationship with the staff. I will sell based on what I have available but cannot special order unless you are a business client.

You are most likely going to receive a mix of all 3. You always have to order them in increments of 1000. If you are searching them and sending them back to the same coin carrier you are going to get the same ones back pretty quick. You can get Ike's with a bit of leg work but they don't like you to search them.

Gin...Since we are snowbirds, I can easily see ordering them in California and turning in the unused in Ohio. So I do not think I would have any problem getting the same ones back. HC...I have registered my ebay business in California, and I have a business account at my credit union. So I suppose that covers the business requirement, as long as doing this through my credit union does not work any differently than through my bank. Gin...When you say a bit of leg work for the Ikes, what specifically are you referring to. Do you mean simply having tellers save them for you? Or are you referring to ordering them? Like the other dollars, I would never turn them in in the same state I obtained them. I would not stand there looking at them if them saved them for me. I would take them and be grateful that they did so. Mox....You have a sweet deal worked out there! I never thought of bank tellers selling for "fair prices". How long did it take you to come to that arrangement?

You just about have to know everyone in a small town. Getting the still warm caramel rolls at the bakery - now THAT is a challenge.

My main bank I crh @ knows me well. Usually I just text the head teller my order over the weekend and it's ready for pickup Tuesday. When I order dollars I do get a mix, but I have a hookup at a different bank that can order ikes, and does so when they can.

When I was in Idaho this past summer I had a bank offer to transfer me some Ikes from the main branch to the one I was at, but as I was flying, I couldn't afford to take the extra weight with me.
