Originally, when I set out to collect the set of Lincoln DDO-001 coins, I was only after business strikes. Over time I've slowly picked up most of the proofs as well, but never found a nice 1960 at a good price.

Well one came up with a $40 starting bid, so I took a chance. Turns out I won it for less than $45 with shipping for this coin. Quite pleased and it adds one of the few missing DDO-001 coins to my collection.

Just wow. This is a rare one. Big congrats TB! Very beautiful coin and wonderful Doubled Die. How long is your "missing" list now?

About 12 or 14 coins. I haven't sat down and gone through the whole deal lately to get a final countdown list. Other than the 1969-S which I am unlikely to ever acquire, I still need two expensive ones: 1970-S and 1955. But they aren't endlessly expensive, just have to save up for them. Otherwise almost everything left is just mostly minor hard to find stuff as no one has them and wouldn't normally consider putting them up on ebay if they did. Last really rare one, though, is 1987-D, and I've been looking hard for those but still no luck. Ended up getting back a 1987-D RPM-003, FS-501 in MS-66 for my troubles, though, so not a total loss.

One that surely someone on the board has is a 1988-D DDO-001, just haven't ever seen one for sale or found one myself. Tanman has a 1969-D DDO-001 but we all know how mean he is and hasn't agreed to trade me for it ;) It's been fun and continues to be fun trying to complete the set, and I am very, very patient.

Very nice buy! Seems inexpensive for that variety.

I'm definitely considering trading it after I get to uploading memorial DDs to my site, will probably be a while until that happens though. I made good progress this year, so hopefully next year will be the same!

You're on Tanman! I'll trade high for it if I don't have one by then. Ya gotta believe that behind the scenes I do a lot of looking for those last couple missing DDO's.

Really nice example TB with lots of contrast between the devices and fields.
