This coin is cracked and connected through the leaves and all throughout the coin. It is only not connected at the top of the wreath. What is this? The first picture shows all the cracks connected on the reverse.

Very nice! There's a lot going on on this coin. Chips, Cracks and I think a die clash. Can you get better pics of the obv like you did with the rev?

You got it! So I'm thinking the reverse is a shattered Die, and the Obverse has a heavy die clash. Obverse photos:

I'm no expert on these things but I know enough to know it's an error or maybe a variety, not damage. How or why?....no idea about the minting process back then. However, I do believe it's common on these dates and coins back then... Including Shield and Liberty back then.

Yes, Die clashes are very common on the Three Cents but I think if it's a shattered die that would be rare-ish.
