Have a Buffalo nickel that is one sided, it is twice as thick as a normal Buffalo nickel and weighs only 2.5 grams, it feels and sounds hollow, the blank side is inset almost cupped. Any help would be greatly appreciated thank you!

If you look in the letter C of CENT under the bison, you will see a very small hole. What you have is a buffalo "squirt gun" nickel, a modification made after the coin left the mint. Value is whatever you can sell it for, less than $10 most likely.

That's interesting. Where does the term "squirt gun" come from?

The back side flexes, You press it in, hold it underwater and release the pressure. Do this a couple times to get it full. Then you show it to someone telling them "look at the neat error on this nickel!". When thye get in close you press in on the back and it squirts a stream of water in their face. These used to be sold in the back pages of comic as "squirting nickels". You can probably still get them in novelty shops.

Sort of looks like a Magicians coin where a dime fits into that slot.
