I found this 1999 D Lincoln Penny and the very first thing that caught my eyes is that it's off-centered, it's offset, it's more to the top. Is this an error? What is it called? Is this a common thing for this type of coin that is minted in 1999?

Please post a pic of the reverse. It is either a slight misaligned die or a slight off-center strike.

Always show both sides of the coin when posting.
As spruett001 stated, it could be one of two things
but need a photo of reverse to say which it is.

Most likely a mis-aligned die, it is almost certainly not an off-center strike, but it could be an uncentered broadstrike. As the other have said we need to see the reverse in order to be sure which it is.
