Excuse me for the stupid question on this penny. The damage was done after it left the mint correct. This coin wouldn't have left the mink looking like this correct. Just wanted to make sure sorry for the dumb question

Anytime you see dings, gouges, scratches or distorted letters,
you can be pretty sure that it is damage, not an error.
