Found this penny while coin roll hunting, I believe its a 1976 D with the coin weighing in at 3.10 grams. There is still a lip around the coun but the design is just all blurred out. What is everyones opinions?

I agree: it's a Dryer Coin.

Such coin damage is rarely found in Australia.
Why?
Coin operated laundromats are very few and far between in Oz.

Dryer Coins will retain their normal weight as the coins design is moved around with nothing removed.
Acid dipped coins will loose weight as the metal it eaten away with the acid. Can be considerably lighter the longer it is left in the acid. Some acids are common events. Soda, salt and Vinegar, salsa, pickle juice and Ketchup. These are milder acid. Straight acid really alters the coins.
