Ok so this dollar coin has a blemished finish which does not appear to be damaged or wear from circulation, also it is missing edge lettering. Any specific opinion on this is appreciated.

I think you have a Dryer Coin. It spent part of it's life crashing around in the drum of a dryer. The edge lettering was probably there, but the thumps and bumps have smoothed it out. The same goes for the finish. It's kind of like dropping a coin on a stone 10 million times. Each tumble caused a little damage until it was set free. Now it's what you see before you. A really rough looking metal buck.

Might be or might be environmental damage. Either way it is PMD.

If it even shows any signs of circulation it's worth $1. Once it's obviously been circulated it can't be known if its worn off or wasn't there to begin with. It would need to be in mint condition, which it isn't. Sorry.
