VF-35, although EF-40 is also possible.

Nice coin, and a good purchase. Remember my standing rule on Buffs: any (1) well-struck Buff with (2) early to early-middle die states,(3) a matching obverse-reverse die pairing, and (4) no excessive polishing to eliminate clash marks is worth buying regardless of technical grade. Your coin ticks all of the boxes. Notice the strong LIBERTY on this coin. This is the 1916 obverse re-design, strengthening LIBERTY after the weak lettering of 1913-14-15. In terms of wear, the obverse is VF-35 (and oh-so-close to EF-40) and the reverse is EF-40. I'd net it to EF-40 because of the strike quality. It's a coin I'd buy all day any day. Pre-1934 Buffs with these attributes are very hard to find. Well done, my friend.
