A˘Just curious why this Dimes portrait feels different than any I can remember. Was it just a quality year for that mint?

It looks fairly normal to me.

Then the picture doesn't do it justice. The obverse field is even bowing towards the reverse. I can tell a difference just by the rim when compared to 3 random Dimes. In the end its just a well struck dime

I think it's just a strong strike, as you suggest.

It looks like someone on ebay is selling 1984-P sharply struck dimes for $1.16 to $1.71 with $1.95 shipping. 143425133154 I would guess that they bought a mint bag and are selling the best coins. All of them look like strong strikes.

While it is a fresher die state, it has been in circulation that dulls the look of the coin a bit.
