He has noticed that the ATM he usually goes to has been spitting out newer bills , so he plans to go back and keep looking...

I had that happen with an atm also. They were $10 star notes. The ATM would give cash in multiples of $10, but if you got $20 you got a $20 dollar bill. The only way to get more than one note was to do multiple withdrawls of $10. My bank statement had three pages of $10 withdrawls!

Wait consecutive's are worth money?!?!?!?!?!? My atm always gives me them in perfect order When I cashed my check last week I got 1000 all in 20's in perfect order....

The $20 notes Sparhawk has are star notes. Consecutive serial numbers on normal notes are common.
