I'm a big Peace dollar guy but still a novice collector. Could you take a look at this beauty? I love the looks of it but is the toning legit? I'm not interested in fake toning and before I lay down a lot of money ($150 is a lot for me) I wonder if an expert here could offer their advice? Also, are there any general rule of thumbs when ascertaining whether a coin has natural or man-made toning? Just don't care about fake toning. Thanks !! https://www.ebay.com/itm/1927-Silve...LH_Auction=1

questionably toning at best , in my opinion. Think about what has to happen for a coin, to tone that much on both sides..
Rest in Peace

It is most certainly not market acceptable toning.

Not to knock the seller, but they seem to specialize more in comic books/sports cards. For the strike on a definite sleeper in the series it is well worth the current $103.00. But that toning? Sad. Very, very sad. I would agree 100% with silverwolf.

100% artificially toned. Peace dollars generally speaking did not tone well, if at all, and those that did tone beautifully often command major premiums over book value.

Photos are very grainy and the "toning" hides any luster or hairlines. Definite pass in my opinion.
