HI All !
I've tried to do research on this item. Not sure what it really is. The responses that I have gotten from internet buddies have been vague, could be this or that nothing specific. Wondering if anyone here could be more specfic ? This is 20 mm in diameter. Is exactly the same on both sides except for one side has a number 10 at the top of it. Made of brass. Any help would be much appreciated.

It's an early American telephone token. The Goetz tokens get a mention in this brief introductory article on telephone tokens.

Quote:
The first major evolution in telephone tokens occurred in 1907 when a Chicago druggist named Henry Goetz patented a round token with a cut in it running from the center to the edge. The token could only be used in machines with an attachment over the coin slot that admitted tokens of the same shop.

Thank you sap ! You don't know how many hours I've spent trying to find something about this. Others have told me it was a flipper coin or some type of machine key. Would never have guessed it to be a telephone token. Hubby acquired this with some other tokens at an auction. Prolly not worth much, a couple bucks at the most, I suppose. If there were collectors of this type of token.
Thanks, again for your help.
