Ebay Collecting State Tax On Non-Taxable Coinage

I think that the list of states that ebay will collect tax for is easily available to see. I think the number is up to 34 states so far.

Here's a good article on sales tax on coins and bullion. I think the main problem is how to get ebay to recognize the various state exemptions.

I'm in Iowa, which, as long as I've been paying attention, does not collect tax on coins. Iowa has required ebay to add tax to any items shipped to Iowa residents. But so far it has not showed up on my coin buying or selling. The last three coins I sold went to WY, OH, FL. One was a non US Panama Balboa. No tax was charged on any of them. I have added a lot of different coins to my cart just to see if sales tax would show up. Coins from sellers in Iowa, others outside of Iowa.
Everything from $1600 St Gaudens to $3 silver Washington quarters. None of them showed any tax added.
