Hi. New to the forum and looking for help. I have a 1999 Pennsylvania State Quarter. The front is silver in color, but is very shiny for being 20 years old. The edges are gold, and on the back, the woman and the keystone are gold. They look too precise to have been hand painted, at least in my opinion.

Any suggestions?

Sorry if this is not the correct forum, and if my verbiage is not accurate I am a sports card collector, but I am curious as to what this coin may be, if anything.

Thanks!

@bb25, first welcome to CCF. Second, while pics would help to confirm what you have, from your description it sounds like you have one of the aftermarket gold-plated State Quarters. These were sold for a premium as collector pieces, but hold no numismatic value above face value and the amount of gold is too small to affect the value either. It is fun piece to look at so save or spend as you prefer.

Lastly, don't stress about posting in the wrong area-I'll ask the mods to move your thread over to the US modern coin variety and error section of CCF.
