Another 1999-P Dime struck once with at least partial reeding that was then broad struck, expanding the coin and breaking the reeded edge. I had 3 of these including one that graded ANACS MS-64. I sold all 3 to the same buyer on ebay over a span of several years.

Sometimes when this happens, the loose reed that can fall off a coin, can get struck into another coin.

I've had this image for years and wondered how could this happen. Now seeing this coin, it helps me see who it could happen. So I'll be adding these images to my educational files and combining the image I'm posting to show how this could happen. Thanks for posting these images.

Spectacular, that tiny piece of reeding didn't break off.

Not the best photos, so I'm just going to add it to this topic. Here's the only image I have of the slabbed Double Struck 1999-P with broken reeding.
